Governor
When played:
- if there is a watchtower, library, minion, jack-of-all-trades, or tactician in hand then
(a) look to “remodel” a card if there is a suitable candidate by remodel rules
(b) gain a gold if there is a not a remodel candidate (even with minion)
- otherwise draw 3 cards if there are 3 or more cards in deck/discard
- otherwise gain a gold
Play strategy : GoldEarlyTrashMid
- Remodel a Gold to a Province
- if we can’t, gain a Gold
- when 3 or less Provinces left in the supply go for a mega turn (draw cards with Governor and remodel when you can)
I’ll suggest a first pass improvement on the basic Governor play rules;
(1) if there is a watchtower, library, minion, jack-of-all-trades, or tactician in hand then
(a) look to “remodel” a card if there is a suitable candidate by remodel rules
(b) gain a gold if there is a not a remodel candidate (even with minion)
(2) otherwise draw 3 cards if there are 3 or more cards in deck/discard
(3) otherwise gain a gold
Drawing 3 cards seems to be far more interesting in a Minion deck, because those decks generally don’t want any treasures and the 1 card drawn by the opponent can easily be discarded again with another Minion.
Yep, I guess governor-minion is going to be totally situational so just make the governor fit best to the minion play rules in that case.
